John Giles believes Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone is the "Real McCoy" and feels that the Argentine would be "ideal for Manchester United."

The Leeds legend joined us as always on a Thursday and did not hide his admiration for the work Simeone has done to put Atletico on the brink of La Liga and Champions League glory.

"The only slight drawback would be that I don't think he speaks English," added John, who believes man management would be easier without having to go through an interpreter.

But he is impressed with Simeone's football ideas and the way he has succeeded without big bucks.

John also discussed how being a famous and successful footballer can translate into football management.

He believes that one of the reasons Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho craves media attention is due to the fact that his playing career was far from the limelight.

"I think Mourinho suffers with that. He wasn't exposed to the publicity as a player and I think he enjoys the publicity too much [as a manager]. He's an outstanding coach as we know but I think there's certain things he does which are childish because he wants to be in the limelight," said John, contrasting him with former Roma and Milan midfielder Carlo Ancelotti and Diego Simeone who starred at Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan and Lazio.

John also cast a critical eye over Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers' comments after the defeat to Liverpool, describing his remarks about parking two buses as "immature". He also feels that better passing does not necessarily mean being the better team, but also added that he does not think Mourinho is as good a coach when it comes to playing on the front foot.

And he is still optimistic that Liverpool can beat Manchester City to the Premier League title and told us why he holds that belief.
