Jason Sherlock has announced his retirement from gaelic football, putting an end to a 17 year career.
Sherlock was an All-Ireland winner with the Dubs in 1995 and last lined out for the county in 2010. He continued to play for his club St Oliver Plunketts Eoghan Ruadh.
In a statement released earlier today Sherlock said: "It isn't easy for any player to take the ultimate step, particular from club football as well, but it is time for me to move on.
"As a child, my dream was to play for Dublin and to have represented my county for 15 years was a privilege. It also provided me with some of my greatest memories and it was an honour to play alongside and against some wonderful footballers and people during that time."
