Ireland goalkeeper Shay Given has told Newstalk Lunchtime that Stoke team mate Jon Walters will regularly give an "eight or nine out of ten" performance each game.

Walters has been the star of Ireland's qualification campaign scoring five goals, including the two he scored last night. The 321 year old recently signed a new two and a half year deal with Stoke.

Given, who has been injured since the Germany win, told Jonathan Healy that he hopes to be in the 23 man squad for France next summer. Speaking on Newstalk Lunchtime he said that he would "love to play one final tournament in France." Given was part of the Euro 2012 before retiring from international football and then returning to the team in September last year.

West Ham's Darren Randolph replace Given during the Germany game and the Donegal native has been impressed with Randolph. "He deserves great credit...  He's quite a calming kind of guy. That showed in his performances in the last couple of games."

The Stoke goalkeeper does not mind who the team get in the draw on December 12th, but he knows it wont be easy. "You look forward to the big games. Ideally, you would like an easy group but the teams that have qualified for a major tournament are all of a high standard."
