Shane Lowry certainly seems to be enjoying golf at the minute.

The Irish golfer was on Off The Ball to speak to the lads about his season so far and his other sporting interests.

After the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship where he finished in a tie for third, Lowry had told European Tour reporter Nick Dye that he was playing the best golf of his life.

Looking back on 2013, the 26-year-old told Ger and Joe that he was satisfied with the way his season had progressed after struggles Stateside.

"I got off to a decent start to the year by beating Rory and winning a few rounds at the World Matchplay. But then I didn't play great. I was back and forth between the States and playing great in Europe but not over there," said Lowry.

"It was a bit tough to take but when I refocused my season and got back to Europe, I started playing well. My season turned in the final round in Munich the week before the Irish Open where I shot 7 under - pretty flawless golf. From then on I played well. I missed the cut in Portugal but I feel I hit the ball as good as I ever hit it. I don't want to jinx myself but the game is feeling quite easy enough at the minute."

While Lowry's game is in a fairly good place, the same cannot be said of three-time Major winner Padraig Harrington who will be taking an extended break from golf after falling out of the World's Top 100 for the first time since 1999.

Lowry gave his take on why his fellow Irishman is stuck in a rut.

"He doesn't look very comfortable [with the putting]. Padraig Harrington is one of the best putters in the world and I think that's the reason he's not playing great at the minute because he never was the straightest off the tee. He always had a great short game to hole putts. But when it deserts you like that, it's tough to find your form and get it back. But I'm sure he will."
