Shamrock Rovers have announced that nine players have been released from their squad.

Stephen Rice, Ken Oman, David Elebert, Danny Ledwith and Conor Powell have all left the club.

Also leaving the club are Tommy Stewart, James Chambers, Billy Dennehy and Conor McCormack.

Rovers had a disappointing season, finishing 5th in the Airtricitiy Premier Division.

The Hoops have signed Luke Byrne, Simon Madden and Conor Kenna from Bohemians, Derry City and St Patrick's Athletic respectively.
