The Sony hack has been one of the biggest entertainment industry stories of the year. From revelations about unannounced films to comments from executives about prominent figures such as Angelina Jolie and Barack Obama, the leak has seen a whole host of private communications and commercially secretive information enter the public domain. 

Brad Pitt and Seth Rogen have now weighed in on the controversy, commenting on the media coverage of the ongoing leaks.

Pitt, speaking at the premiere of wife Angelina Jolie's new film Unbroken, said "I was just saying that I don’t see a difference in News Corp hacking phone calls and hacking e-mails. I don't think we should be able to participate. I think someone's conversation, whether in e-mail or in person, should be private. We shouldn't be participating and these sites that are disseminating them should stop. They won't.

"And we should stop reading them. We won't. It's more of an indictment on us, I think," he added.

Seth Rogen, meanwhile, is firmer in his stance. "Everyone is doing exactly what these criminals want," he told radio presenter Howard Stern, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. "It’s stolen information that media outlets are directly profiting from."

North Korea has denied involvement in the hack, but praised the hackers, calling their attack a "righteous deed". North Korean authorities have frequently spoken out against Sony's upcoming Seth Rogen and James Franco comedy The Interview, which features a scene where Kim Jong-un is assassinated.
