Sergio Garcia had a nightmare on the fifth hole of his third round at Ponte Vedra Beach that resulted in a quadruple bogey.

With wind conditions deteriorating and the greens moving faster than any golfer would like to see, Garcia set himself up to par the hole with his fourth shot just five feet away from the hole.

That's not how things transpired for the 36-year-old.

He misjudged the read and the speed of the green to end up with five putts and the dubious honour of being the first golfer to 5-putt at the players since 1992.

We all embarassingly remember Ernie Els' six-putt at Augusta which landed him a nine and the highest score ever recorded at the Masters on a single hole. Maybe Ernie and Sergio can take putting classes together during the summer.
