Sergio Garcia has apologised for making what could be seen as a racist comment aimed at Tiger Woods.
Asked if the Spanish golfer would have Woods round for dinner during the US Open, he replied "We will have him round every night, we will serve him fried chicken".
"Fried chicken" is seen as a racial stereotype in the United States when referring to African-Americans.
The pair are publicly not keen on each other, but Garcia claimed he was caught off guard.
