Chances are you’ve been tuning into the adventures of Springfield’s jaundiced residents for more than 20 years, but you’ve never seen the Simpsons’ hometown like this.

Artist Tim Doyle had created a collection of darkly ominous and gloomy vignettes of what Springfield looks like after dark. The artist, who also draws brilliant illustrations of locations from Futurama, Arrested Development, and Seinfeld, first displayed his Simpsons’ work in San Francisco two years ago.

But the past few days have seen them go viral, and a quick look will show you why. Check out the images below, with our favourite being the Moe’s Tavern one – complete with three-eyed fish Easter egg just below the kerb.
