At this year's Olympics, Scott Evans became the first Irishman to reach the last-16 in an Olympics badminton tournament but also gained attention for his bare-chested celebrations after matches.

His Games came to an end last night with a defeat against Denmark's Viktor Axelsen in the last-16 but overall, he was proud of his progress.

"Disappointed obviously but overall I'm certainly happy with how I've done," he said on Off The Ball.

The atmosphere in some of his games were his big takeaways from his tournament.

"Obviously beating Marc [Zwiebler], in the moment I won then, having that release of emotion and seeing my friends in the crowd and seeing my family there. Then obviously having that experience of playing against the Brazilian guy and the crowd like that was something that I'll never forget. It was absolutely insane and then of course another moment, walking out for my game last night and the [Irish] hockey lads were standing there and they just took over the whole stadium with chants and cheering for me," he said.
