The door to Ireland selection is most certainly open to Paddy Jackson according to Ireland head coach Joe Schmidt.
Schmidt had been outlining his reasons for selecting Ian Keatley ahead of Paddy Jackson for the November International Series.
Keatley has been recalled to the international set-up after a series of impressive performances for Munster this season, while Jackson has paid the price for an injury-interrupted start to the campaign for Ulster.
But Schmidt is backing Jackson to bounce back from being overlooked.
"He's certainly on our radar. We had a discussion. He was obviously disappointed but he is a tough young man. We've got a lot of respect for Paddy. He's been in some tough situations on the pitch in the Six Nations where there were some tough outcomes as well. He's worked his way through those and we've no doubt that he'll work his way through this period and come back stronger and be competitive for selections in the Six Nations," said Schmidt.
