Southampton are third in the Premier League this evening following their 8-0 hammering of Sunderland at St Mary's.

Santiago Vergini and Liam Bridcutt both scored own goals for Sunderland during the match.

West Ham are fourth of the table following their 3-1 win at Burnley.

Arsenal needed an injury-time equaliser from Danny Welbeck to salvage a 2-2 draw at home to Hull.

Seamus Coleman marked his return from injury with the last of Everton's three goals to win at home to Aston Villa 3-0.

Chelsea meanwhile stay five points clear at the top after beating Crystal Palace 2-1 at Selhurst Park - both sides ended that game with ten men.

Chelsea's nearest challengers remain Manchester City, for whom Sergio Aguero got all four goals in a 4-1 defeat of Tottenham at the Etihad.

Newcastle vs Leicester was delayed following a problem with a newly installed giant video screen at St James' Park.

However the match got underway following the short delay and Newcastle secured a 1-0 victory against the visitors.
