Jason Ryan is the new Kildare senior manager.

The former Wexford boss previously served as a coach under Kieran Mc Geeney.

It's expected that his backroom will be appointed in the coming weeks with the Lillywhites Chairman confirming they will all be from Kildare.

Mc Geeney himself is back in management as well and will work with Armagh manager Paul Grimley.

The Orchard county had a disappointing year losing to Galway in the football qualifiers.

Kildare statement on Jason Ryan appointment

Jason Ryan was ratified as the new Kildare Senior Football Manager for 2014 following tonight's monthly county board meeting. 

The Waterford native has a proven track record as a manager in his own right having been at the helm in Wexford for 5 years before joining Kieran McGeeneys backroom team in 2013.

Ryan's backroom team will be confirmed over the coming weeks.
