Russell Westbrook created his own piece of history on Friday when he became only the second player in NBA history to average a triple-double for the season.
He also fell just short of his 42nd triple-double this season to break Oscar Robertson's record as he needed two more assists to move out on his own.

Despite scoring 23 points on the night along with 12 rebounds and eight assists, the Oklahoma City Thunder lost 120-99 against the Phoenix Suns. OKC drop to 45-34 while the Suns improve to 23-57.
Westbrook needed only six assists to join the record Robertson set in the 1961-62 for the Cincnnati Royals.

The Suns rushed out to a 28 point lead as OKC struggled to make any baskets early on before Westbrook and co. came alive.

The loss means OKC will probably end up seeded 6th or worse in the play-offs.
