Seven-time Wimbledon champion Roger Federer had to come from two sets down to book his place in this year's semi-finals.

Croatia's Marin Cilic held a 7-6 4-6 lead to leave the Swiss maestro on the brink of a quarter-final exit.

But Federer dug deep to win the third and fourth sets 6-3 and 7-6.

And the comeback was complete when he took the deciding set 6-3.

"I knew I was in so much trouble in the third and then the fourth, so it was great fun playing against Marin. He's one of the nicest guys on the tour, so I feel sorry for him. But for me the dream continues and I couldn't be happier," Federer said.

He joins Milos Raonic in the last-four after the Canadian overcame Sam Querrey.

Andy Murray is aiming to join them in the semi-finals but faces Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, while the final last-four spot will go to Tomas Berdych or Lucas Pouille.
