Man City 3 - 2 Bayern Munich

Manchester City have kept their hopes of a place in the Champions League last-16 alive in dramatic fashion.

Sergio Aguero scored a hat-trick, including twice inside the final five minutes to help City to beat 10-man Bayern Munich 3 - 2 at the Etihad Stadium.

The win sees City move level on points with both AS Roma and CSKA Moscow, but the Premier League champions hold a better goal difference which leaves them in control of their own destiny ahead of their final group outing in Rome in two weeks time.

Aguero gave City the lead from the penalty spot after Medhi Benatia was sent off for a foul in the box.

But Bayern Munich hit back with two goals from Xabi Alonso and Robert Lewandowski just before half-time.

However, two goals in the final five minutes from Aguero gave City a precious win.

Schalke 0 - 5 Chelsea

Chelsea are already through to the knock-out stages after an emphatic 5-0 defeat of their closest Group G rivals, Schalke, who are managed by their former manager Roberto Di Matteo.

John Terry, Willian, Didier Drogba and Ramires all scored for the Blues, who also profited from an own-goal by Schalke's Jan Kirchhoff.

Meanwhile, Lionel Messi obliterated the all-time Champions League goalscoring record with a hat-trick at APOEL.

The Barcelona striker now has 74 goals in Europe's elite competition, three above the mark set by Real Madrid legend Raul.
