Manchester United ended their scoring drought, with Wayne Rooney getting the goal in their 1-0 win against CSKA Moscow, which takes them top of Group B.

The teams had been heading for 0-0 draw at Old Trafford before Rooney found the net with 11 minutes to go:

Meanwhile, Manchester City are through to the knockout phase of the Champions League.

They progress with two Group D games to spare after winning 3-1 in Spain against Sevilla.

Raheem Sterling and Fernandinho put City in control with two early goals.

Benoit Tremoulinas pulled one back for Sevilla but Wilfried Bony made sure of a win for Manuel Pellegrini's side.
