Rory McIlroy has returned to the top of the world golf's rankings with his victory at the WGC Bridgestone Invitational.
McIlroy finished two successive rounds of 66, ending up on 15-under overall. He finished two strokes clear of second place Sergio Garcia, who had remained ahead going into the final round.
The Co Down native heads into this week's US PGA Championship with back-to-back victories after winning The Open Championship in July.
Meanwhile, it looks likely that Tiger Woods will be out of the final golfing major of the year.
He withdrew from the Bridgestone Invitational as his back injury flared up again during yesterday's final round.
The PGA Championship will take place between the 7th and 10th of August.
