Ireland's Rory Best has his eyes firmly fixed on making history.

The Ulster hooker will start this Sunday's pivotal match against Argentina with the prize of a first ever semi-final appearance at stake.

Speaking to Off The Ball's Nathan Murphy, Best is conscious of avoiding a below par performance in one of the biggest games in Irish rugby history. 

"There are some times when you have that bit of slip up and thankfully it didn't cost us against Italy. But it's something that we have to make sure it doesn't happen again," he said, adding that: "this is knockout rugby. This is a chance to make history".

Best also spoke of his confidence that Ireland's line-out operators will step up to the plate in the absence of captain and leader Paul O'Connell.
