As Joe says, the Honda Classic was Rory McIlroy's to give away and that's exactly what he did as the Ulsterman lost out in a playoff yesterday.
We were joined on the line by former European Order of Merit winner Ronan Rafferty who was full of praise for McIlroy's shot-of-the-year candidate at the 18th.
"I think you've possibly seen the shot of the month already. It was an absolutely fantastic effort and the most important thing from a fellow player point of view is watching his reaction to how he played that shot. He wasn't down in the dumps. He was still walking very briskly up the fairway and looking forward to having an opportunity to do something special. And of course we saw it last night. He did it!"
Rafferty believes McIlroy's is gaining confidence and thinks swashbuckling style could pay off at future tournaments.
"Rory's like a Seve or Phil Mickelson type when he plays. He's swashbuckling and we want to see him go for that type of shot. He's a 24-year-old kid who is trying to play the best golf he can, exciting golf and that's exactly what we want to see."
But he added that McIlroy knows to play it safer at the crunch in a Major.
