Everton manager Ronald Koeman has praised Ireland captain Seamus Coleman for his attitude in the early stages of recovery from his double leg fracture.

Coleman is expected to be out until the New Year after a tackle from Wales left back Neil Taylor left him with a broken leg during Ireland's 2018 World Cup qualifier against the Welsh on March 24th in Dublin.

Koeman and club captain Phil Jagielka visited the Everton full back in Donegal this week and the Dutchman says the player was in good spirits.

"It was great to see Seamus," said Koeman at his press conference ahead of Everton's Premier League clash with Burnley.

"He’d a lot of support from the fans, the players and the management. I think it’s good to do that for the boy.

"He lost that frustration and he is now ready to start his recovery. He will come back in one week and start to recover well."

Everton are seventh in the Premier League, a full 10 points clear of eighth placed West Brom and level on points with sixth placed Arsenal who have two games in hand on the Toffees.
