Brendan Rodgers believes his team can handle the pressure they will face over coming weeks.
"There are still a lot of points to play for and there will be points dropped by all teams before the end of the season," Rodgers told the BBC.
"We don't feel the pressure and we're very confident with how we play."
Liverpool moved top of the Premier League table yesterday with an emphatic 4-0 win over Tottenham at Anfield. Liverpool continued their dominant form of late with a performance tat could have yielded several more goals against a Tottenham side ostensibly coming to Merseyside in the hope of pushing for a top 4 spot, but in reality looking powerless against the attacking power of Rodgers’ side. Liverpool are now two points clear of Chelsea, while Manchester City sit 4 back with 2 games in hand, and a trip to Anfield in less than 2 weeks.
"The dream is for our supporters, they want to win the title," added Rodgers.
"It has been a long time but it's not in my thinking. We just need to prepare and do well, and if we do that, we will win games.
Rodgers avoided title talk for a long time this season, instead preferring to focus his side on a top 4 finish. Recent weeks have rendered that line of argument obsolete, and yesterday Rodgers spoke about how Chelsea and City would find it “tough” to come to Anfield.
"Chelsea and Manchester City understand Anfield will be a real tough place to come. We love playing here, the support was incredible and that will only intensify,” Rodgers said.
"We respect Chelsea - they have a world-class manager and a team that has been assembled to win the Champions League and the Premier League.
"Manchester City are one of the new superpowers in world football, but we feel we can win any game because we are a team, we have a lot of hunger and our tactical ideas are improving all the time."
