Former England captain Rio Ferdinand has been handed a three-match suspension by the Football Association over a comment he made on Twitter.
The QPR defender has also been fined £25,000.
The punishment is believed to relate to a Jamaican slang word used during an exchange on Twitter, which saw Ferdinand tweet:

"Get ya mum in, plays the field well son! #sket."
The word sket is a Caribbean term for "whore" and led to a number of complaints.
