Pete Mahon has been appointed as the new Drogheda United manager.

Mahon, who took charge of the final league match, has agreed to take over at the of the club for next season after they were relegated to the First Division on the final day of the season.

Mahon will be joined by assistant manager John Gill, while this season's interim manager Mark Kinsella will remain at the club as part of the first team coaching staff.

"At this stage of my career, I’m not taking a job on for the money but for the passion for the game. I enjoyed my time at Drogheda last season having worked closely with all of the staff and Fiachra Kierans and Dermot McKenna were vital in my decision to take on the role," said Mahon.
