West Brom have received an apology from referee's chief Mike Riley for the injury-time penalty awarded against them in their recent match at Chelsea.
The west London side scored from the spot to make it 2 - 2, after Ramires went down in a collision with Irish defender Steven Reid.
Albion's manager Steve Clarke says he appreciated Riley's phone call, even though it does not change the final score.
"If he's apologising, he obviously feels it was the wrong decision. We have to put it behind us now and move forward," said Clarke.
Last week, Reid told Off The Ball about the anger and disappointment in the dressing room following the decision, while things got heated between Blues boss Jose Mourinho and WBA defender Jonas Olsson in the tunnel.
