Real Madrid have signed a 16 year old Brazilian for around £38 million (€44 million), despite him only making his professional debut this month.

Vinicius Junior will stay with current club Flamengo in his home country until July 2019.

Real say he could join up with the newly crowned La Liga champions earlier than that date if the clubs agree to it.

The forward cannot officially move to the Spanish champions before his 18th birthday.

Vinicius Junior has already made his senior debut for Rio de Janiero based giants Flamengo who are one of the most successful and widely supported clubs in Brazil.

He has also been capped by the Brazil under-17s with whom he has a prolific goals record. He helped his country to victory in the 2017 Under-17 South American Football Championship, finishing as top scorer with seven goals and earning the Player of the Tournament award.
