Reading chairman wants minute's silence for Thatcher

Two rugby union Premiership clubs have become the first professional sports teams to announce they will hold a minute's silence before their games at the weekend to mark the death of Baroness Thatcher. 

Saracens will honour the former Prime Minister ahead of their match with Worcester.

Exeter will also pay tribute before their fixture with London Irish.

Reading chairman Sir John Madejski believes football should take a similar approach: 

However the Premier League will not formally ask clubs to hold a minute's silence, a decision supported by the Hillsbrough Family Support Group.

David Conn of the Guardian also told Off The Ball last night that a minute's silence may not be a good idea.
