Spain and Real Madrid legend Raul has retired from football.
The 38 year old played for the last year of his career with the New York Cosmos and retired last night after his team won the North American Soccer League title beating Ottawa Fury in the Soccer Bowl 3-2.

The Spanish legend failed to score in the game as Gaston Cellerino scored a hat trick to helped the famous side win 3-2. Ottawa were captained by former Sligo Rovers player Richie Ryan and also included Cork's Colin Falvey in the side.
Although Raul's time will be best remembered for his time at Real Madrid, he also won major honours with Schalke 04, Al Saad and the Cosmos. He won six La Liga titles with Real Madrid along with three Champions League titles. He was also capped more than 100 times by his country but missed out on their golden era after playing his final game in 2006.
