Rangers goalkeeper Steve Simonsen has been given an immediate one match ban by the Scottish Football Association for breaking gambling rules.

He has also received another one game ban, which is suspended until the end of the season.

Simonsen was charged last month accused of betting on 55 matches, none of which involved himself or his club.

But players in Scotland are not allowed to bet on any football games played anywhere in the world.
