Some pre-fight anticipation might have been lost when Andy Lee vs Peter Quillin was declared to be a non-title contest due to the latter's failure to cut weight, but it still made for an intriguing Saturday night contest between the two middleweights.

In the end, it finished in a draw officially, as the Limerick man rallied in the later rounds.

ESPN's Dan Rafael felt it was a good fight but felt that Quillin won.

"My personal opinion being ringside for the fight was - with all due respect to Andy, who I've known for many years and always enjoyed talking to - I thought Peter Quillin won the fight," he said on Off The Ball tonight.

Nevertheless, Rafael feels there was little to choose between both fighters in Brooklyn.

"When you look at the amount of punches thrown and landed by both guys, and the percentages they landed, they were really, really close. Over the course of a 12 round fight, Andy was credited with landing only 10 more punches which is almost meaningless. He also threw about 30 punches more which again over 12 rounds is really not that big of a deal - and landed one percent less. So in terms of the punch output it was very even."

Rafael also looked ahead to the potential for Billy Joe Saunders to be Lee's next challenger, and the chances of Quillin being granted a rematch.
