Leinster, Munster and Ulster get their European Rugby Champions Cup campaigns underway this weekend.

But how will they do? We asked former Munster back-row Alan Quinlan and he gave his assessment of the three opening round challenges.

Leinster v Wasps

Quinlan acknowledges that injuries will test Leinster against a tough Wasps team.

"I think Wasps are a very good side. There's a lot of pressure on Leinster to get a result," he said.

But he expects Leinster to advance out of the pool and into the knockout stages, especially if they can get a result against Wasps.

Quinlan gave his assessment of both sides' strengths and feels that Leinster's leaders will need to step up to the mark in what he expects to be an "exciting" match.

Sale v Munster

Quinlan believes Anthony Foley's men "have no choice but to win" at Sale due to the tough nature of the pool they were placed in.

He cites intensity as the main point for Munster to get right and due to Sale's poor form, Quinlan thinks Munster should set the tone early and "take the game" to their opponents.

Quinlan also highlighted the need to put pressure on Sale's Danny Cipriani.

Leicester Tigers v Ulster

Despite Ulster's injuries, Quinlan is confident that they can defeat Leicester, drawing on the confidence of beating Glasgow in the Pro 12.
