Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has said he won't be doing too much transfer business in the mid-season January window.

After the club's loss to Colchester United in the Carabao Cup earlier this season, the Argentine said he would need to strengthen the squad. However, that opinion has changed.

"No, I don't believe. Really," said Pochettino to a press conference ahead of Spurs' Premier League encounter at home to Watford on Saturday.

"I believe in the players we have, I believe in the players that are at Tottenham today.

"I respect all opinions and I know they'll be people that are going to say 'we need to change or 'we need to do something in or out' but if it's my decision, I'm going to stick with my players because I know they have the quality.

"It's only to unlock some situations that is going on in their mind but we have great quality to be fighting for the things that we expect to fight for."

"I trust 200% in them and I believe they have the capacity and the potential to win games and turn this type of situation.

"We have the confidence that we have the quality and it's only time to put all the things clear.

"In this type of situation, the most important is to be all together and show a strong face to the problems and talk a lot."

Mauricio Pochettino led Spurs to the Champions League final last season after wins in the knockout stages against Manchester City and Ajax. However, this season their form isn't matching up.

They sit ninth in the table, and before the international break Galway-man Aaron Connolly hit the back of the net twice to help Brighton to a 3-0 win over Pochettino's side and condemning Spurs to their third loss of the campaign.
