Michel Platini could still run for the presidency of FIFA.
The UEFA President was today one of two names struck off the ballot for February's election as he is still serving a 90-day ban from any footballing activity.
Platini this evening thanked the 60 signatories of a letter of support to him, with reports he is hopeful of his ban being overturned.

Along with Liberian Musa Bility, Platini's name was not put forward for election to succeed the outgoing Sepp Blatter.
