The dark arts of scrums are infamous in sporting circles but it looks like mauls are far more dangerous. 

Wales and Lions hooker Richard Hibbard was playing in the English Premiership for Gloucester on Friday night in their 15-11 win over Gloucester. The hooker lasted 68 minutes before he was replaced by Darren Dawidiuk.

Hibbard's face did not look the best after the game.
