The general view after Ireland's Six Nations opener against Italy was one of an under-whelming performance.

But as the statistics below show, Ireland scored well in terms of performance effectiveness on the opening weekend of action, ahead of the the five other nations.

The consensus is that Joe Schmidt's side could have scored more, as most of our rivals are likely to pull out a superior point difference against Italy.
