As the papers are reporting this morning, Mark Clattenburg's love of Ed Sheeran's music has inadvertently landed him in hot water.

The Premier League referee has been barred from officiating this coming weekend after breaching protocol.

He traveled alone to Saturday's match between West Brom and Crystal Palace when officials are supposed to travel together. He also spoke to Palace manager Neil Warnock alone after the match which is also against regulations. 

All so he could make it in time to attend an Ed Sheeran concert.

But assuming referees are even allowed on Facebook, Clattenburg won't have been pleased to see a certain Wayne Rooney travelling without his team-mates to enjoy Sheeran's company without fear of reprimand...
