Philippe Coutinho's return to Liverpool first team training couldn't have come at a better time for Jurgen Klopp.

The Brazilian suffered a nasty looking ankle injury during Liverpool's 2-0 victory over Sunderland in November and has come back into the fold following a busy festive period.

Liverpool host Plymouth Argyle tomorrow in the FA Cup, giving the 24-year-old another week to recover before being integrated back into Premier League action.

He, alongside Daniel Sturridge, joined the session with the main squad at Melwood on Friday evening ahead of their clash with Manchester United next weekend.

Liverpool are currently five points behind league leaders Chelsea and will look to further close the gap after Antonio Conte's side slipped to a first defeat in 14 games against Tottenham on Wednesday night.

Coutinho has scored six goals and provided five assists this season for Liverpool. They're unbeaten in their last six games, having won four of them. They've only lost once since Coutinho has picked up the injury, their 4-3 defeat to Bournemouth at Dean Court.
