Munster second row Paul O'Connell is hopeful of being back fit for the fourth round of the Rabo Direct Pro 12.
That means he could be available again at the end of September for the clash against Newport Gwent Dragons.
The Ireland international says he is making good recovery from the arm injury that ended his Lions tour and is confident of being fit.
Munster open their campaign this Saturday night against Edinburgh in Cork.
But O'Connell says their home record in the competition must improve this season.
Munster won seven from 11 at home.
Meanwhile there is good news for Connacht as winger Danie Poolman should be availible for their season opener against Zebre at the Sportsgrounds on Saturday.
Eoin Mc Keown and Mia Nikori are both out however.
