Paul Dunne has taken another giant step towards securing a playing card for next season's European Tour.

A 3-under par round of 69 today has left Dunne tied for 12th place on 10-under at the European Tour Qualifying School in Spain.

The 2015 Open surprise package is seven shots behind outright leader Ross McGowan.

Damien McGrane carded a level par 72 today to remain on 8-under, which still leaves him inside the Top 25 and ties that would secure a playing card after tomorrow's final round.

Simon Thornton and Kevin Phelan both dropped shots today to slip back to level par overall.
