The funeral of Dublin Gaelic football legend Kevin Heffernan took place earlier today, with huge crowds coming out in Marino to pay their respects to the three time All Ireland winning manager. Many prominent figures in the GAA and politics were also present at the ceremony.

Heffernan died last Friday and was today laid to rest at St. Fintan’s Cemetery in Sutton.

Dublin’s most recent All-Ireland winning manager Pat Gilroy spoke to the congregation about his memories of Heffernan.
