Ava Hutchinson has competed at everything from the 3000 metres to full marathons, via cross country, and is a former Irish champion at both half marathon distance and cross country. She made her debut Olympic appearance at last summer’s games and despite finishing down the field in 68th she did so in the very respectable time of 2:37:17.
Newstalk Breakfast's Oisin Langan was speaking to Hutchinson yesterday at the launch of the announcement of the sponsorship agreement between New Balance and Athletics Ireland and he asked Ava about how she looks back on the Olympic year of 2012 and her goals for 2013. He also asked Hutchinson if it is possible for her to compete as both a track athlete and a marathon runner.
