Former UFC veteran Pat "Bam Bam" Healy says Khabib's positioning out-weighs his strength.

The former mixed martial artist fought the Dagestani back at UFC 165.

The unbeaten Russian defend this World lightweight title next Saturday against Crumlin's Conor McGregor.

Healy believes it's the AKA fighter's positioning on the ground is his biggest, and most overwhelming asset.

"It's not his strength that is overwhelming; It's his constant movement, and his ability to shutdown what you're doing.

Healy, now retired from the sport joined OFF THE BRAWL MMA last Wednesday to talk about next week's UFC 229 main event.

The Portland based coach lost a 3-round decision to Nurmagomedov in 2013.

The Team Quest coach detailed the difficulties he had grappling with Khabib. Healy believes Numagomedov's most overwhelming asset is his ability to position himself in the most effective positions.

"When we grappled. I just couldn't do anything. I couldn't move my hips, he really isolated me down. And, like I said; it wasn't from his strength.

"It was more from his positioning. He's always in good position. He's explosive and quick, too.

Healy says the Russsian's ability to manipulate the position helps him get a read of his opponents attempted movements.

"He puts you in such a bad position, that he knows which way you're going to go."
