It is well-known that Roy Keane did not always see eye to eye with club and international team-mates.

One of the players he did get on with was Andy Cole who was even allowed to call the Ireland assistant manager 'Schizo' to his face.

Tonight Cole joined Off The Ball for our Drogheda Roadshow and he remembered a bout of fisticuffs between Keane and former Manchester United team-mate Gary Pallister.

"I always got on well with Roy. My first trip with Man United, we go to Marbella. Alex Ferguson told us we could have a night out. I came back with Lee Sharpe and I've seen Gary Pallister and Roy Keane standing at the entrance of the hotel. Then I see Pally throw a punch at Roy and Roy's watch fell off. All Roy was concerned about was his watch. He said 'if my watch is broken, Pally, we're gonna have it, we're gonna have it.' I'm standing there thinking 'what is this?' That was my introduction to Man United. They were two great players and I don't think them two spoke a word after that. But now they get on very well."

Of course, it is well documented that Cole and Teddy Sheringham did not like each other while team-mates at Man United. Yet they played well together on the pitch and Cole revealed how another strike partnet Dwight Yorke acted as a go-between.

"Teddy was clever. He would speak to Yorkie because he knew Yorkie could bend my ear. Yorkie would say to me 'Coley, Teddy said XYZ' and I would say 'Yorkie, tell Teddy XYZ'. Yorkie is that character who gets on well with everybody and he's a lovable guy. He would just say 'Coley said no'."

Cole also discussed former nemesis Neil 'Razor' Ruddock, the transfers to and from Newcastle and Man United, and rapping. Listen to the full interview above.

The Roadshow is in association with Setanta Sports and they will have live and exclusive coverage of the Liverpool v Arsenal (8th February) and Arsenal v Manchester United (12th February) games.

As part of thet three former legends of Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United were in Ireland to promote the games.
