Seamus O’Connor has gone out at the semi-final stage of the slopestyle event at the Sochi Winter Olympics, despite an impressive performance that earned him a score of 70.25.
The score was good enough for ninth of twenty competitors, but short of the top 4 spot needed to advance to the final.
Despite going out the 16 year old Utah born O’Connor said he was “over the moon” with his score.
American Sage Kotsenburg won the gold medal – the first of the games – in this morning’s later final.
