Darron Gibson says now that Giovanni Trapattoni has left he is available to play for Ireland again.

The Everton midfielder says he was "embarrassed" at not playing at Euro 2012 and says after that he did not feel he could play under Trap anymore.

He said: ""I've been thinking about this for a long time, but I did not want to disrespect the manager and say anything bad about him. Trapattoni is gone so if I'm called up, I'll come straight back in."

The former Manchester United player says he felt like Trap had some sort of problem with him.

Gibson has added that Martin O'Neill or Roy Keane would be good candidates to take the vacant position.
