Noel Connelly is set to be confirmed as the new Mayo football manager, with Pat Holmes joining him as a selector.
The captain of the losing 1996 and ‘97 All Ireland final sides is currently in charge of Hollymount/Carramore and will succeed James Horan.
Connelly will head a management team that also includes Pat Holmes and current coach Donie Buckley.

Connelly and Holmes won the under 21 All-Ireland championship with Mayo in 2006 (pictured above).
Kevin McStay was the other major name in the frame for the job.
