Jason Pierre Paul has been keeping a low media profile in the wake of a serious injury that he sustained ahead of the start of this year's NFL action, but he finally spoke to reporters today about the extent of the damage done to his hand.
As part of his July 4th festivities, Pierre-Paul attempted to light some fireworks to celebrate, but things went wrong and he ended up suffering severe damage to his index finger and the rest of his right hand.
The defensive end was on the verge of signing a huge contract with the franchise before the accident, but has instead put pen to paper on a one-year deal, heavily weighted towards incentive-based pay.
On Friday, he finally broke his silence over the accident and spoke to the media, but didn't answer too many questions on what exactly happened. However, he did show just how badly damaged his hand was, and why the accident had put his entire career in jeopardy at one stage.
