Neil Patrick Harris, star of the hugely successful sitcom 'How I met you Mother', has been announced as host for the 2015 Oscars ceremony.

Harris comes to the gig with a CV boasting successful stints as host of the Tony awards and the Emmy.

Harris is primarily known for his work o the small screen, but has recently starred in 'Gone Girl' alongside Ben Affleck – a film likely to get several nominations at next year’s ceremony.
