Former Olympic champion Michael Carruth spoke to Newstalk Sport's Oisin Langan today to look ahead to the "fight of the century" in Las Vegas tomorrow night between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.

The fight which was first mooted around five years ago takes place with controversy surrounding both fighters. The gloves of Mayweather and the protective cup of Pacquiao have both come under scrutiny from opposite camps as the fighters backroom sides are becoming more vocal ahead of the showdown.

Both men have been surprisingly cordial with each other before the fight in promotional appearances but that may change later today when they meet for the final time at the weigh in.

Oisin and Michael speak about the need for a super fight, whether it has come too late and the need for a boxing resurgence against the threat of mixed martial arts.
