Andy Murray comfortably got through a potentially tricky first round tie at the US Open beating Nick Kyrgios in four sets.

The World number 3 beat the 20 year old Australian 7-5 6-3 4-6 6-1 in the early hours of this morning to book a place against France's Adrian Mannarino on Thursday.

Murray took the first two sets, breaking Kyrgios in each set before losing a tight third set by six games to four. murray regained his dominance in the final set to win it 6-1 and win the match in a time of two hours and 43 minutes.

Despite Murray's heroics in the four set clash, it was still Kyrgios who produced the outstanding moment of the match.
